Plantar fasciitis. http://www.arthroscopy.com/sp09001.htm

Been through it once, it sucks. Major pain right where the ligament connect to your heel. Don't bother with the shot, talk to a doctor. You have a long road in front of you if that's it.

its not near the heel, it's right in the middle of my foot like dead center bottom of my foot, and it's like a burning sensation

Well, yes I know what you are talking about...but, no I don't know what it is. I think it must just be some kind of muscle cramp or spasm. It doesn't last for a long time and there is no lingering pain afterward. Sorry, I can't tell you what it is, but at least I can say " I feel your pain."

I think I get the same thing, to me it feels almost like my skin and/or muscle is being stretched farther than it is meant to, and it stings. I've never been able to figure out exactly what causes it or how to prevent it. But yeah, I also feel your pain. It'd be nice if someone knew what it was and if there is any solution to it.

That doesn't sound too much like plantar fascitis. I'm going through therapy right now for that. Most of my pain originates where the tendons meet the heal and the ball. That actually sounds more like the fascia is cramping. Both conditions can be alleviated by massage and stretching exercises. They've got me doing stretching right now that includes pulling the toes up, pulling my foot up, and stretching the calf. Doing a wall stretch by planting your offending foot flat on the floor about 3 feet away from the wall and then leaning forward keeping your leg straight should help stretch both the calf and plantar fascia. Also putting your toes against a wall just a little off the floor and then pushing down on your foot so the toes push up should help to stretch the plantar fascia.

I've felt that cramping spasm before when I land quickly on my foot or turn quickly. Stretching helped before. I've had the trouble now with fascitis because of my foot injury in March. That is improving though with tylenol or naproxin, and stretching.

the muscle is still the plantar fasci. if you do the stretches and strenghtening as if it were plantar fasciitis it should clear up

Or you could wear arch supports...I know this pain happens a lot with people with flat feet (my brother has EXTREMELY flat feet). Get some Dr. Scholl's inserts or something.

I had that and it turned out it was caused by flat feet. The quick cure is to grab your foot, and twist it around until you feel the tendon pop back into place. I think someone on TFP mentioned that he had this and it went away with a shot of Jack, so that's always a possibility
