Where do you go on a first date ?
Where do you go on a first date ? Some people say movies are bad on first dates but I don't know why.

I honestly havent been on a 1 on 1 date in years! But I do go out with girls in groups, like to pubs and stuff... but a fun one on one date is bowling! Its a good time to joke around and just have fun, it makes you talk and interact vs. just sitting there watching a movie.

I got lucky with my last one, even if the second was a total bust. Anyways, something active is fun, we went ice skating and then to some live jazz at a coffee house. It went over really well. Ask her how she feels about different ideas. I had the idea of going rock climbing, and while many girls do not agree, she wanted to go there on the second date. Unfortunately, the schedule didn't allow for it and I blew it on that date with dinner and a movie. Good luck though.

Well the first date has to be a combination of both crowded, so that your date doesn't feel like she (/he) is totally alone with you, but the place must also give you at least some privacy. I used to take my first dates over to Original Joe's in San Jose. This place has tons of history in San Jose and has a great friendly/classy environment. Unfortunatally, I talked to a health inspector who visited the place and I enver went back.
I took one date to a ball room dancing place after her roomate informed me she wanted to be a ballroom dancer when she was a little girl. She really, really, really liked it. Then she liked it again once before I went to work. Try to find out what this person likes to do or is interested in, the go from there. The last thing you want is for your date to be uncomfortable because of her/his surroundings, in addition to the stress of a first date. |
I enjoy going to play pool for first dates. You're out in public, but still kind of alone. You can have a drink or two to help loosen up. It's easy enough to talk to each other since it's not usually too loud, but any silences aren't that bad since you're actually doing something.
Just don't be a hotshot and beat her horribly every game. If you are better than her, just lower your skill level to the point where you're winning somewhere close to 50% of the games. It'll keep things competitive, but still friendly. Coffee at a coffee shop is also nice. Great for a short date. It's pretty much all conversation, so try to think of a funny story or two beforehand. And don't let it drag on too long. Movies are kind of alright. The big problem is that you can't really talk to your date during a movie. And you can't really put any "moves" on her without looking like a horny 14 year old. But if you combine the movie with coffee afterwards, it gives you something else you can talk about. |
streak_56 and I went to Subway and watched movies in my Mom's basement on our first day. He got kicked out at 10:00 p.m. The joys of living at home.
