It's Monday. Again. Make it stop!
Like it says, it's Monday, and I'm at work. Ever get the feeling that you're the living incarnation of the character Peter from Office Space?
Don't get me wrong, I rather like my job but I seem to have a psychological condition that prevents me from being alert at work, so I turn to you happy people for a little advice. Do any of you have any tricks that you would recommend to put a little pep back in my day? You know, besides chugging 2 pots of coffee every other hour :) I'm attempting to exercise more and sleep more regular hours but even with those steps invariably right around 12:30-1:00pm I start nodding and getting incredibly sleepy, if I've taken a lunch it only compounds the situation. Also just to make this thread more fun, how about having everybody post their most entertaining/embarrassing/annoying Monday stories. |

Lawrence: No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked sayin' something like that, man." My advice? Find a job you like. Or get some really really hot mini pepers and chug one everytime you feel drowsy. |

I find taking a nap in my car in the afternoons peps me right up.

I just do my job. I think about what would happen if i wasn't making my paycheque. It usually gets me back on track.

Well, I don't have any stories about work, but I do have a story about school. One Monday I woke up at 7:55 and almost did a backflip out of bed when I realized what time it was. I jumped out of bed, threw on what I had worn the day before, ran out of my dorm and hauled ass to my 8:00 class.
I made it to my class and walked in and started towards my desk. The instructor saw me as I was halfway to my seat and said, "I admire your willingness to learn Mr A, but today is Monday and you're enrolled in my Tuesday class." The entire class busted out laughing and looked over where I had stopped halfway down the aisle... Not only was I in the wrong class, but I was wearing wrinkly clothes and my hair looked like I had just been electrocuted. |

If you can, leave the office for lunch and try not to eat carbs(try salads or bunless burgers)-they can make you sleepy within 2 hours of eating. If you do feel sleepiness or lethargy coming on, get up from your desk and move about. And find at least one thing during the course of the day that will make you smile when you think of it-even a good joke can break things up and make them tolerable.
