In Relation To Another Thread

I made this thread to be in relation with my thread in the Canadian forum ~~>Here<~~

I am planning on relocating to another city about an hour and a half west of toronto, I have already been offered a place to stay by a friend who lives there. Basically i already have one step in front of me to doing this, I got a place to stay for dirt cheap. Now i just need to take the final step and go there.

The reason i made this thread is because i know some of you have done this before, I guess what i am looking for is any advice on this kind of thing..I have never just packed up and moved to another city before. I have already calculated what my bills work out to be a month and they total $600, Even if i had to work for $9 dollars an hour i would still be making enough to pay the rent & bills and still have money left for personal needs (Food, Hygiene products etc etc).

My plan right now is to go down there and work for 2 weeks through a temp agency (Labour Ready) and see how it goes, I have never worked through a temp agency before so i'm not sure if the demand for work is consistent or it's kinda "When we got something, We'll call you" type of deal. I know a few people who have got full time positions through Labour Ready..So it's a good sign. If all goes well, Then once i have some cash i will rent a cube van from U-Haul and come back here and grab all my shit and put it into storage down in the new city (London On) until i get my own place.

I'm just looking for any kind of input from anybody who has done this before..I will admit that just the thought of doing this makes me nervous..Not a bad nervous, The type of nervous from doing something like this for the first time. I talked to my stepfather and he said he doesn't think i should do it, That kind of response doesn't surprise me though.

I can't afford to live in toronto on my own, I would be looking at $1000 dollars a month just for an apartment, Where in london i could get a place for almost half the price. I'm turning 27 this summer and i'm living with my stepfather, How pathetic is that?

Do it. Do it.

Even if you fail and have to come crawling back to your stepfather begging to move back in with him, I still think it will be good for you.

It will be an experience and you will learn from it. Whether it turns out good or bad is irrelevant. It if turns out good, so much the better; and if it turns out bad, then at least you will have experienced being out on your own and calling all the shots, no matter how stupid they may turn out to be.

Do it.

I'd like to know where in London you could get a decent place for 215 pounds a month. Actually, make that any place, let alone decent.

I say go for it, absolutely.

Six weeks ago I packed my stuff and moved from Australia to Scotland on my own and I haven't looked back, and I'm only 21. I spent two weeks with my best friend as she let me stay at her place, and within two weeks (because I was picky) I found a great flat and moved in, and here I am now, and I love it. I haven't looked back at my old life at all.

It's scary as hell, but exhilarating. In your case it's only an hour and a half away from home but it'll give you a brand new outlook on life I think.

Go for it!
