				Suggestions for Calorie Tracking Programs

I've finally decided I've been overweight for too long, and decided to be pro-active about getting back in shape and losing some weight.

Anyone have any suggestions on Calorie Tracking programs, preferably freeware? Or <$10 shareware? Preferably something that can include exercise? A quick Google search didn't yield anything interesting, so I'm turning to you guys. Thanks! |

I second the fitday recommendation. I've been using it for about a year, and it has worked pretty good for me. You may not be able to find a lot of foods on there, especially if you're into more ethnic type foods that most people don't eat, but if you can get ahold of some health information you can enter that in and it'll keep it in the database for future use.

You can add custom foods as well. I found that www.nutritiondata.com had all the foods i eat in it, so if FitDay doesn't have them I go to ND and get the health information.

use a journal, easier to take with you. list everything you eat, there's lots of places to look up calorie counts, and go out to eat less, its an excuse if you dont know the calorie count!

It is a little more money, $30 (I think) for 2 licenses (they suggest that you share the program with a weight loss buddy), but I have been pretty happy with Performance Diet software. Also does exercise tracking and can do graphing functions of weight loss vs. calorie consumption over time. If you are interested you can checkPerformance Diet.
