Argue the opposite ideal you believe in.
Swim naked in the ocean. Travel (for pleasure) somewhere new by yourself. Drive through the poorest section of your city and have lunch.

you haven't really lived until you have... --saved a life --stood outside in 85 mph hurricane winds --laid on the beach at night and watched a lightning storm roll in (don't stand, silly!) --poured too much lighter fluid on the charcoal... and lit it, anyway --told your boss/coworker what you REALLY think --made a sidewalk chalk mural in a public place --changed entire outfits on I-4 at 60 mph in rush hour --had a complete conversation with a three year old --explain death to a child --explain love to a child --tell someone how incredibly in love with them you are |

You haven't lived until you've felt all the extremes of feeling... the intensity of uncontainable happiness, or the depths of inconsolable sadness, the anguish of pain, and the serenity of complete, awe-inspiring calm.

Stuff I've done:
-asked someone out who made me so nervous that my hands shake -punched a hole in a wall and realize that I can do that any time I want -gotten so into a book, video game, and/or conversation that sleep wasn't that importent and would just get in my way -quit my J.O.B. because I can offord too Stuff to look forward to: -master a martial art or two -invite a bunch of friends and/or family to dinner, and pick up the tab with out looking at the bill -run a successful business -pay for my own wedding -be airlifted to a mountain top for my wedding

visit ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY <-- a very sobering event
go to a different part of your town you've never been to and say hi to some people if you find a group of old men sitting in the shade, stop and listen. Wisdom comes from the old. You'd be supprised. Go to the city cout and sit in and watch what happens to those that break the law. the very next horrible thunder storm, sit out side in the heart of it and listen... you'll know what your looking for. Pick some wild flowers. go up to the next woman you see that looks sad and if your wearing a hat take it off and say, "mam I hope your day turns out to be as lovely as you are." no its not cheezy, words like that will bring you a smile men have fought for down the timeline of history. open a door for someone. tell the grocery store bagger you got this one, you know how tired they are. Take a honest to god train ride. sometimes getting there is the actualy adventure.

It means only one thing, and everything: Cut. Once committed to fight, Cut. Everything else is secondary. Cut. That is your duty, your purpose, your hunger. There is no rule more important, no commitment that overrides that one. Cut. The lines are a portrayal of the dance. Cut from the void, not from bewilderment. Cut the enemy as quickly and directly as possible. Cut with certainty. Cut decisively, resoultely. Cut into his strength. Flow through the gaps in his guard. Cut him. Cut him down utterly. Don't allow him a breath. Crush him. Cut him without mercy to the depth of his spirit. It is the balance to life: death. It is the dance with death. It is the law a war wizard lives by, or he dies. |
