mouse arm
My job requires that I spend a lot of time using a computer, recently my mouse arm (as in the arm I use to control my mouse, I am not a freak) has started hurting at the shoulder, what should I do i can't not use it

Consider picking up a trackball. You won't be moving your arm at all when using it. As for something to help with the pain, I don't really know. My first thought would be to take some ibuprofeun (or however it's spelt) and not use it for a couple of days.

Examine your work area for non-ergonomic features. Make sure your body is aligned in a natural way, without bending or stretching. Take breaks every forty-five minutes. That doesn't mean stop working, just do something other than computer work for five to ten minutes. Your HR Department should know more about other options you may have.
Make sure your elbows when you use your keyboard or mouse are at a 90 degree angle and not resting on anything. Look up something on ergonomics and fix up your work place.
Don't sit in one place for too long either. Get up and move around once in a while, especially if you have a sit down all day type of job.
Try changing the height of your chair just a tiny bit up or down. Also, why not switch mouse-arm? I switched about a week ago, I'm not as fast or exact as before but it works okay. I should get a leftie or neutral mouse though! :D
I find that I sit too far back so my arm is extended (and my shoulder is forward). Try using the mouse on the left from time to time. Sit closer to the mouse and exercise. It really does help.
ok using the mouse with my left is just wierd
Do something to strengthen your shoulders. Pushups would help a lot because they strengthen the whole shoulder, building all the supporting muscles.
switching mouse-hands is wierd at first. But one can become ambidextrimouse in about a week. At least I did.
