I thought this only happened to newborns...

I believe I have an infected belly-button. When I look in there, I see scabs, and when I clean it with alcohol/hydrogen peroxide, the Q-tip always brings out some fresh and not so fresh blood. Anyone know what I can do to counter-affect this thing, besides cleaning it with alcohol and hydrogen peroxide?

Weird. I would make sure you kept it clean. wash it well, keep using the alcohol/hp, and be gentile with it (you don’t want to irritate it any further). If it doesn’t go away with in a couple of days or gets any worse, I would go to see a doctor about it.

I had a zit on the back of my neck a couple of weeks back. I popped it and it got all swelled up and infected. I went to the doctor and he gave me some antibiotics, it was all better in 3 days.

yah, it is most likely not bleeding because of the same things that cause infants to bleed. keep it clean, and if it continues to give you problems go see a doctor. also, if you are running a fever... see a doc.

You probably got an abrasion in there and friction keeps the cuts from healing. Make sure you wash carefully and frequently to keep it clean so it doesn't get infected.

As long as it stays clean, it should heal over a resonable amount of time. If not, I would go see a doctor. You have have some type of infection, that needs further treatment.

Do you have your belly button pierced? Go get it checked out. I don't know why people are so afraid to see a doctor. Once you find out what it is, post back letting us know.

After cleaning, apply an antibiotic ointment- polysporin, neosporin. Do it 3 times a day.

Well, for me it's a lack of health insurance and that I live in America, where healthcare is based on the "you get what you pay for" system. But seriously, I make $0 a year, how am I going to afford that stuff?
