MP3 player suggestions?

I'm looking for a MP3 player to use for workouts. Thought I'd see if anyone had recommendations for either getting or staying away from specific devices.

My criteria:
At least 128 MB storage (or ability to add additional storage)
small/lightweight
ability to wear via an arm-band

I almost posted this in electronics, but because of my intended use, I thought I might get more specific responses here.

thanks in advance

i have the RIO CALI 128MB SPORT. [ http://www.goelectronic.com/Merchant...de=MP3+PLAYERS ]

ive been using it for about a year now with no issues. i only use it for cardio.

the armband is great for running. the unit itself is small and lightweight. i like the design of it so if you are holding it while you are running you can control everything as it sits in the plam of your hand with your thumb and index finger (its got like a joystick/trackball type thing)...that probably impressed me the most the frist time i picked it up.

i like the play lists so i can have a variety of music depending on the activity...and the radio is an added bonus.

one more thing...it goes on standby if your not using it for like 5 mins...nice feature so it doesnt drain your batteries.

any questions let me know.

I'd go with the Rio too. It is very lightweight compared to the ipod or dell jukebox. I have the dell jukebox, as well, but only use that for biking or walking but carries way more songs.

i have a creative muvo 2...
it has a lot more storage than you are looking for (4GB) but i love it
its great because its so small, i take it with me to the gym, when i run, when i bike back and forth to class
its pretty much an extension of me
also, the claim that the battery lasts for 14 hours is very true, i only recharge mine about 2 times a week for all the listening i do

I have an older version of the Creative Nomad Muvo (128MB) and it works well for working out. Doesn't have an arm band, but their line has really expanded, so maybe some of their new ones do. Here's their product list . I'm thinking about getting a new one of a similiar model to get more storage space. It looks the the Nomad Muvo 2 X Trainer model straps onto your arm.

What I like about the Muvo I have is the simplicity/versatility. It is essentially a USB jumb drive. Just drag and drop files onto it and plug in your headphones.

I had tried another one previous to that (an RCA one) and the interface was so poor I returned it out of spite. You had to load a 250MB browser on your PC just to get files onto it. That is a crappy interface.

Currently I have the RIO-Only complaint was the armband-I always fear it willl fall off. Had a Phillips Nike, best armband-similar size to RIO but heavier-Cranked out on me 1 1/2 after purchased.

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I am sure you can adopt it to your use in working out. This has to be hands down the best deal out there for a non-hard drive system. Buy a Lexar MPC-231 JumpGear MP3 Digital Music Player at Amazon that is $35.84 and then buy up to 1GB jumpdrive Sport Jumpdrive from Lexar that for a 1GB is only $79.99 at Amazon. They have a 512mb for $54.99, and so forth... I have also seen really good deals for the 1GB drive latley (down to around $40 at dell), but those deals have passed. In any case, hard to beat.

P.S. I personally use a regular size IPod with an armband and don't really have any problems with it. Though sometimes it does pause between songs and I have to stop the arm from bouncing too much so it can load a new song.
