Trying to rebuild credit while still in Chap 13
Will it help me at all at the moment. I have been trying to rebuild my credit for the last 2 years with a 1 credit card and by making everyone of all my bill on time.
I have another 2 years before I will get be able to finish paying off the 14k back to the trustee that I owed from credit cards and my missed mortgage for one year. I have tried getting a car loan now thinking that since I have filed chapter 13 2 years ago that I might have a chance now at getting credit. It seems I was wrong. No one wants to talk to me cause I still have the chapter 13 open. So basiclly my question is that while I am rebuilding my credit now and still in chapter 13, it will be kinda useless for me to even trying to take out an equity on my house because probably no one will want to deal with me right now right? What about once I have paid off my chapter 13 and and since I have been trying to rebuild my credit for the pass 4 years (assuming when I get it paid off in another 2 years) will my credit score automaticlly go. |

Bankruptcies stay on your credit report for seven years.
Look at it from the lenders point of view - why would they want to loan someone money who couldn't pay off all his previous creditors? Sorry to hear about your tough times - good luck, man.
