Did I tear it?

I was trying on my new football cleats in my house yesterday, when I slipped and slammed my knee cap into the wall. At first it wasn't so bad, but now I can't bend my right knee more than 90 degrees. Seems like the pain is coming and going. As soon as I get up to walk around the house, it gets really sore. Im wondering if it's the knee cap that is hurt, or if god forbid i did some damage under it? Any self test I can do to try and figure it out?

I've done that many a time before.
As far as it's been explained to me, the impact has jarred the muscles in the knee, and they've tensed up.
Give it a nice warm bath, and try not to put too much pressure on it for a day or so.

If it's still bad after that, go visit your GP.

feels pretty good after a nice warm shower until I started walking. I am going to ice it, and then take a pain killer (bextra). I have a game today and I would drive myself nuts if i didn't play. Hopefully all goes well.

I have been told, in such situations, to ice the area first, to reduce swelling, and then warm it to promote blood flow and healing. Personally, I'd take it easy today.

Also, never wear cleats in the house, or on anything thats not grass, for that matter.
