To Russia, With Love
So, I'm getting set to take an epic journey. I'll be returning to das mutterland... at least for a month. I haven't been there since I was 8, when I stood at the gates of the US embassy with my family, waiting for political asylum.
In three weeks, and nearly 15 years later, I'll be reuniting with the strangers I used to know. Its such an odd feeling... excitement and nostalgia, mixed with fear. Anyone have general advice for staying out of trouble out there? EDIT: Oh yea, to complicate matters further, I'll be taking my tripod, my camera, and a couple of lenses. I have a feeling it might be a good idea to declare everything, just to avoid getting them confiscated over some technicality by a shady customs agent...

I left on September 23, and I'm back now, but thanks for asking
I've got a thread in Members Playground detailing the outcome of this trip (which went very, very well, actually).
