Emergency roommate search in the Twin Cities, MN

So, I've been left in a lurch by a rapidly vacating roommate, and now I need to replace her with someone ASAP, preferably someone I can trust not to do this in the future. I've got flyers all around at local businesses, a Roommates.com account (they even extorted the cash out for a subscription from me), an ad on Craiglist, and listings at several area colleges and schools. I've looked into maybe getting a newspaper ad, but those things seem sketchy as hell to me. Has anyone here been in a similiar situation? What do you guys suggest I do?

Sounds like you're doing all you can to find a new roommate.

Talk to your landlord? Explain your situation... That you are trying to find a new roommate - but it might take a little bit of time. (especially if you can't swing the rent on your own)

A credit check on a new potential roommate couldn't hurt, or at least a reference or two.

Well, the landlord isn't at all concerned about renting this place out, it's cheap and in a great location. He's going to be cool at least during this coming month, at least, but he's still going to want the full rent from me in a relatively timely manner. He's going to push back the due date for about a week, I think I might be able to get at least one of the three open rooms filled by then, or at least empty my bank account for a week or so until I can get someone in here.

$400 - Room available in Cathedral Hill house

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm trying to rent out a few rooms in a house near the Cathedral Hill neighborhood in St Paul, which is a very beautiful, wonderful place to be these days. Garrsion Keillor has been known to shop around this area a lot (I've actually met him a few times- very quiet guy). The rent is $400 a month, and covers all utilities, and you'd have access to the rest of the house. It's right by several major buslines and is about 10-20 minutes away from downtown Minneapolis by bus. A+ location all around.

Anyway, about us: I'm Jerry, and I graduated from Macalester about a year ago. I'm a psuedo-writer type, though I'm not nearly
well-polished enough to do it professionally, and in the meanwhile I'm working at a close-by organic food coop (I can totally get you great
deals on produce and many other foods there). I'm a fairly introverted guy, but once I get used to you or I sense that I like
you, I open up. I try to be as reasonable and level-headed as possible; just bring up any problems to my attention ASAP and I'll do my best to accomodate you.

The other staying roommate is Genevieve, and she's currently in an art program at the U. She's a really cool, sweet, laid-back painter type, and she seems to get along with almost everyone well (that I've seen). She has this awesome, very playful cat named Homie, who is great with people (especially if you are friendly with him), though he's not so great with other cats (he takes forever to warm up to them, usually).

The space is currently open, contact me for more info about them. I prefer being contact via my email addy, or by phone XXXXX (and I do check my voicemails). I hope to hear from you soon.
I have included the text of your ad here.
