I have a job in IT. Well, actually two jobs. My "full time" job is 3 day/36 hours a week, and I have 4 days off. I have a second job (on-site computer repair) to keep my sanity as I have no SO or anything to keep me entertained. I make a decent amount of money with just the one job, so the second job is more for play money instead of bill money.

I have a job in television news. I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other job on the planet. Starting salary in this profession can be as low as $17,000. I've actually heard of lower but it's rare. It DOES go up from there, though. You can earn a pretty decent living at it if you work hard and get into the right places

I'm a new teacher, unemployed. They're not hiring around here. Am about to start subbing, and there's the possibility of some part-time evening work in my former career, tech writing.
Tech writing is boring for me. Teaching is scary, but on those occasions where everything falls into the groove, a transcendent experience. |
