Smoothies and other good things

Hey Guys,

I am sitting here eating/drinking a smoothie I made. I am wondering if its a decent meal for breakfast of lunch.

I use: Usually Skim Milk but... today I am out... so I stole so of my wifes soy...

3/4 Cup Low fat Yoghurt 84 Cals/11g Protien/0.2 g Fat/9g Carbs
3/4 Cup Soy Milk per cup 90 cals/6.5g Protien/4g Fat/8g Carbs
3/4 Cup Blue Berries 60 cals/6g Fibre/4g Carbs
2 ice cubed magno stuff my wifee makes 32 cals/8.5g Carbs/1g fiber
and 1~2 scoops whey depending on breakfast or lunch
per Scoop 120 Cal/20g Protien/1.5g Fat/4.9g Carbs

So lets see,
506 Calories
57.5 g Protien
39.3 g Carbs
7.2 g Fat
7 g Fibre

Tasty Stuff. Looks good on paper. Its usually this or an egg white omelette for breakfast. and the same for lunch. Its boring, but I find ways to make it all taste different. I quite enjoy it b/c its clean eating.

Suppers are the hardest thing for me to keep healthy and in decent proportions.

I tend to try and eat high protien, like the above, tuna, cottage cheese, and the like, what kind of things do you eat to stay on track?!

depends on what your goal is. looks good for cutting/maintaining.

That looks yummy, Kris! I used to have smoothies all the time when I was pregnant - with soy milk too (can't stomach normal milk) but not so much now. I'd stick a dash of honey in there too, for my sweet tooth.

I tend to do the low carb, high protein thing mostly too, and always have half a protein bar for supper before bed to keep my metabolism up during the night.

Well for a guy my size I looked at a few websites for calculating Basal Metabolism. Mine was approx 2500 calories. Thats what I "burn" in a day without any excercise.

I have read many places that if you want to maintain they usually say eat 2200~-2500 calories a day. So the above isnt too bad for that purpose. Especially if you are eating roughly the same amount of cals 5 times a day.

Its been working okay for me, like I said in another thread, I have lost 20 lbs in the last 2 months with my new excercise routine.

Try the recipe, its pretty tasty. I use Vanilla flavored whey. Plus the blueberries are the highest rated berry (I think, besides the new "Acai berry") in free radical fighting antioxidents!!

Enjoy!

To that concotion, i'd add wheat germ, flaxseed oil, pumpkin kernals, cinnamon spice and a banana.

My smoothies have 9 ingredients :D
