Red eye
My right eye is pretty much filled with streaky red lines, left eye is fine. When reading, i can actually see black dots from the corner of my right eye, and it's kind of disturbing. How can i reduce the red lines?

Go see a doctor, your vision is nothing to delay with. If it is redeye(conjunctivitis), then sulfa drops will clear that up. If you ruptured blood vessels in your eye, then you need to know.

I thought conjunctivitis your eye was really pussy and kinda gross looking, and the rims of your eye got pink. It's also highly contagious, so I'm surprised it hasn't spread to the other eye.
The black spots, and he's kinda vague about how many he's seeing, could be symptomatic of a detached retina -- but that's rare in young people. Have you rubbed your eye really hard recently? Anything come near your eye? Any pain or sensitivity to light? Your eyes are nothing to play around with, you get one set... Get thee to an eye doctor just to find out what the problem is. |
I have seen a lot of people lately with one eye that is almost completely red and glazed over. One person's eye was pretty leaky too. Is that pink(red)eye?
If it is, how can I make sure not to get it? I really don't want to look like that. It scares me, because one of the people I saw it on was at my gym. |
I had pink eye in college, and have been militant about never getting it again.
1. Wash your hands frequently, and avoid touching or rubbing your eyes. 2. Don't share washcloths, towels or pillowcases with anyone else, and wash these items after each use. (I got it from a towel) 3. Don't share eyedrops or cosmetics such as eyeliner, eye shadow or mascara. Replace them after you're healed, to avoid re-infection. 4. No contact lenses until after you have healed. -------------- The first two are the best advice for not catching it... |
