sore elbow
I've been playing frisbee virtually non-stop during work breaks and at night for the last week or so. My elbow really hurts now, especially when I straighten it all the way out. It isn't swollen so it's not tennis elbow, it's just overly-sensitive and weak now that I've overworked it. The pain is all in the joint and it feels like it's associated with the looseness I'm feeling, as if the lower half of my arm will just pop right off if I throw the frisbee with this arm. I'm not quite sure what to do with it besides give it a rest.
Should I ice it or heat it? Should I limit its movement or keep moving it to keep it from getting stiff? Should I wrap it with Ace bandage?

Going back into my memory banks when i was an assistant athletic trainer for the football team.
RICE was for when there was swelling -(Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) Once the swelling went down, then heat should be applied if there's no swelling, I'd probably alternate between heat and ice - Heat is good for loosening up the muscles and joint stiffness, ice is good for the pain. Massage in the area to get blood flowing also speeds up the healing process, but if massage causes pain, then stop. I've always kinda felt that wrapping it and slings and such really are only good for sympathy, but in all seriousness, try it, if it makes if feel better, then use it-- just when wrapping it, don't wrap too tightly.

if it's an inflammation thing, going on my experience of mild shin splints, then ibuprofen might be a good idea too.
