career ideas

im 20, and basically i just need a high paying career that can fuel my stock investments, what are some choices that wouldn't require more than 6 years of school and that can get me a decent salary before age 24? thanks for any input.

What's your definition of "high paying"?
What's on your resume right now?
What education do you have/
What are your interests?
What's your skillset ?

if you're looking for quick cash flow, i'd reccomend selling crack to kids. once you get your distribution chain up and running, it practically runs itself.

realistically, you're asking for what every young adult wants and practically all of them aren't gonna get: the world handed to them on a silver platter. bear down and work your ass off, from the ground up. that's the only way you're gonna reach those lofty goals you've set for yourself.

Professional athlete. Either tennis or golf specifically. All you need to do is win one or two tourny's a year, and your set.

Go into engineering. Average chemical engineer makes over 50K right out of college. You could be making well over 80K by the time you're 30.

Gotta plug my profession.

Do something you're happy with. TRUST ME. If you don't, you will have a miserable job and won't be happy- and may even feel stuck and helpless later on. Follow your passion- that's what matters.

I agree with oshnSoul.

after years of taking a semester here and there, working as a server at fine restaurants I decided that my passion was to make money. I've only 2 years of college behind so I know the feeling of not having enough schooling to back up your dreams.

what I did decide to do was try and work my way into the Mortgage business. Most companies just want to see a little sales experience and don't require much college if any. I'm not sure how much money you wanted to make, but you'll be making enough to cover any expenses you'll incur in your early twenties.
(I'm 2 mos. from being 26 myself)

so give it a shot, who knows. you can always just save your money from the mortgage thing and do want you want in your mid thirties, as is my plan. to sit around all day in Spain and produce my own music.

wish me luck

Real estate has a high ceiling; but starting out, you will make less than $30k per year.

I don't know your educational background, but remember that law school is only three years after your Bachelor's degree. When I came out of school in 95, I only made $35k my first year but was making double that in 2 years. Nowadays, first year lawyers are making $60+ straight out of school.

However, I would recommend real estate over law. The hours are much better, and stress is considerably less. Quality of life is much more important than money.
