the kick ass songs from karate kid, and other anthems from 80's movies... footloose has some, along with other movies where a kid takes on some obsticle and has a montage showing them train or whatever.
i find those to be inspiring for exercise. and punk/80's.

Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
Breaking the Law - Judas Priest (but this one reminds me of the video and makes me laugh) Iron Maiden has a lot of fast, energetic songs. I don't listen to music while I weightlift/workout so I'm really not much help. Good luck, though. |

I agree with Rudel73. I can't stress how important that song is in my life. This may sound really dorky, but that song has helped me through a lot. Its very inspirational. I wasn't suicidal or anything, but I was down a while ago because I had no job and no car to find one. I listened to this song once everyday, and it gave me the will to go out and try harder than I had for anything else to get a job, and now I have a great paying job make 23 bucks an hour, and I am driving a BMW. And I'm only 18.
Thats my success story.

You get 23 bucks an hour in a plastic factory! I've been paid less than that as a programmer and as an engineer. Most I ever got in a plastic factory was about £4.50. I've gotta get my ass over to Canada.
Metallica is always good. Any kind of metal, really. Try Slayer, but don't listen to the lyrics.

Some good Stones there, Rodney.
Here's some other stuff: The Herbaliser - Time 2 Build Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit Lenny Kravitz - Always On The Run The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night AC/DC - It's a Long Way to the Top Benny Goodman - Sing, Sing, Sing Fat Boy Slim - Weapon Of Choice Lauryn Hill - Everything is Everything Shivaree - Goodnight Moon Stevie Wonder - Superstition Run DMC v Aerosmith - Walk This Way Edwin Starr - War Elvis Costello - The Beat The Velvet Underground - I'm Waiting For The Man The Beatles - Back In The U.S.S.R. Us3 - Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia) James Brown - The Old Landmark The Blues Brothers - Everybody Needs Somebody To Love Dick Dale & His Del-Tones - Misirlou Tomoyasu Hotei - Battle Without Honor or Humanity* Santa Esmerelda - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood* Warren Zevon - Werewolves Of London David Bowie - Suffragette City Yoko Kanno - Want It All Back *jmad did mention Kill Bill, Vol 1. These are from that album. For me, it doesn't have to be dark, heavy or violent. It doesn't have to be a particular genre. It just has to be something that caught my ear and has a good "pulse". I don't know if I could really listen to all of the "80s movie achievement anthems" while working out. Nothing against them, they just remind me of the movies too much. |

I lift slow and steady, so I would have to add Pink Floyd to the mix. Of course, some A3 is also quite nice.
