Most caring gift of all for an 18 year old -- Voter Registration Card!
Depending on what you want to spend...Tiffany's Silver Heart Bracelet (This was the first link I could find -- everyone has them -- and you can have the heart engraved with whatever on it) A Silver locket of some sort She have any hobbies? I don't particularly like them myself but they have those Italian Charm bracelets that you can customize however you want...Italian Charm Bracelet Again, it's the first link I could find so you'd know what I was talking about. A big stuffed animal -- buy a pretty pair of earrings and put them on the beast. A picture frame with a certificate to have you both have your picture taken together.

if you are looking to save money -- create her a custom CD with music that she likes, and put some surprises on it - like reading her a poem that she might like, or one of her favorite stories, something that's meaningful to her. Maybe some memories that you have shared. The custom create the "liner notes" for your special CD.
You can go as sentimental or as light as you want (I'd love to take credit for the above idea, twas my favorite birthday present ever last year - made me almost cry)

My birthday is in July, too, so I have a plan. Why don't you buy me a birthday present, and send it to me, and if I like it, I will tell you, so that you can get the same thing for your girlfriend?
Pretty good idea, huh? The Tiffany bracelet is a really good idea. You can also find cute things like that at department stores and have them engraved with something special. After six months, you want something more than a teddy bear, still romantic, but not so much as super expensive jewelry, either.

Depends on the girl.
I know they all like the flowers and jewelery, but I like something a little more personal for such a big occasion. Try this: Go to dinner someplace nice, buy her flowers. After the dinner, go to some place (outside would be nice if it's comfortable) with good lighting. Present her with a scrapbook full of things you guys have done over the first months (like pictures, letteres you've written to eachother, movie stubs, etc.). Make sure it's a big scrapbook with alot of empty pages in the back. Tell her these are for the years to come. |
