Radioshack drug tests for pre-employment screening. Always. you can order something bought online to clean you up a bit...if your dirty.

general rule of thumb: major corporations are in bed with the government, so they follow the rules the government sets up for employment, i.e. drug testing. unless you're gonna go work for something small like a record store or a mom-and-pop grocer/resturaunt, count on a whizz quiz as part of your pre-employment.

the moral of this story? if you're looking for a real job, cut your usage down. it's to your benefit in the long-run anyways.

only certain sectors for major corps. ones that deal with lots of money, and people's safety.

entertainment industry doesn't. I won't even begin to tell you the stories of the buds and lines that I have found in the green rooms.

Fair enough... I'm simply considering most jobs that alot of entry-level people are tryng to get into. That seems to be the place that Legolas is gonna be looking.

When I worked for Spelling Entertainment, they did do regular drug testing, and not just as a condition of employment. (although they did give some folks ample notice before the test.)

The surprise tests when i worked on Wall Street were much more entertaining. It used to be really amusing to watch some of the arrogant little bond traders sweat on Testing Mondays.

really? interesting....

Spelling is a Viacom interest company as is MTV Networks, all the other groups that I know don't, from ABC to Time Warner.

and yes, the do screw the entry level people and forget about all the people controlling the money and direction of the company.

When I worked for them, they weren't part of Viacom.

Well, you could just quit smoking for a few weeks before you have to take the test. Simple as that.

Ew. Drug tests for minimum wage jobs? Living in the U.S. must suck.

my thoughts exactly, sheesh.

Like a minimum wage worker can cause that much problems anyway, it's not like you ever leave them unsupervised anyway. Hell, half the time, if you took certain medication, you're screwed because it can contain similar agents.

Didn't test me when I was hired Aug. 2001. You really don't want to work there anyway.
