I dunno... I've gone through a few episodes of being pissed off at someone or some event in the past year. I wouldn't say I've ever really been depressed, but definitely stressed and angry on occasions.
I hate to use anyone as an emotional tampon, but friends are there to listen to you bitch and whine sometimes, right?! Anyways, I like when someone listens to what's going on in my life, but I equally enjoy their input or what their feelings are on the situation. Rather then have them be quiet and just listen to them, I think it's good to have a TWO WAY conversation about what's going on. |

I dunno, it's my theory that everyone has something that just takes them back to the basics. Something that strips away ALL the stress and aggro, and lets ya be you.
For me its fishing. I have 15 lakes in city limits and just drive to the shore with a 6 pack and spend a few hours casting and drinking. It lets me keep things in perspective, lets me think, and by the time I drive home, life is life and I've found my motivation again. What is it for you mate? Some people go for walks. Some sing. Woodwork, fixing cars, hell everyone has something. and if its so bad so that you have no release, theres only ONE time tested solution. Tequila.

Try to put the problem into perspective: It's never usually that bad. Try to have a laugh about something, preferably the problem. If that doesn't work, it's time to try a healing dose of Zen or Taoism. Failing that, drink or drugs as a temporary measure, then start again from the beginning.

If it's a friend that is hurting then the only way I have of helping is to provide a shoulder to cry on and an open heart. Letting someone pour out their heart is the best cure.
When I'm down I like to either go for a long long walk with my dog or I garden. For me that gets rid of the stress, something about nuturing aspect of it that makes things right in my world.
