question for Phlebotomist
have you guys ever heard of One Step Gel. used to clean the arm befor you give blood. i am alergic to iodine (ionic and non ionic) and want to give blood. but the local blood bank does not suport any meathods of cleaning the arm that do not include iodine. im trying to track some One step Gel which can be used to clean the arm befor giving blood.
thanks for the help. if this is not clear let me know and ill explaine it more. (got school in 5 min)

Dilbert,
hibiclense (tm) should be much easier to find and is fine for that sort of thing. We use it routinely for invasive procedures on pt's w/ iodine sensitivity. I would think that they would have some on hand( or some alternative) given the recent attention to allergies to latex and iodine. My 2 cents maddemon
