Bottled Water of choice?

I have been getting some flack in #tfp for my refusal to drink from the tap, so this is for all those out there that drink bottled water. What is your favorite type?

Personally, I stock up on Ice Mountain like it is going out of style. It has the best flavor of any of the spring waters. I refuse to drink that filtered stuff like Dasani. YUK! :)

Shokan 11-18-2003 08:06 PM

Dasani tastes like metal.

I go for Evian, or Canadian Essence.

numist 11-18-2003 08:06 PM

I drink stuff that is so filtered that I dont even like the taste of most bottled waters anymore.

My uncle owns a water store, so I get it all for free too :D

lordjeebus 11-18-2003 09:06 PM

I'm not too particular, but somewhat prefer Volvic and Crystal Geyser.

The only ones I can't stand are Evian and Dasani.

I normally drink tap though.

empu 11-19-2003 12:30 AM

Coors Light.

Neato 11-19-2003 12:44 AM

I tend to drink from "the tap", but when I was living at home my Grandma insited on buying me bottled water because I wasn't drinking enough. The kind she got me tasted like carrots. It was disgusting. It said pure filtered water on it. Lies!
Anyway, is it the taste of tap water that keeps you from drinking it? Or... what?

Sleepyjack 11-19-2003 01:11 AM

eek, i only drink tap water.

If it's cold yoiu can't normally taste anything bad? (probably cause your tongue is numb :p )

From a budgte point of view, i'd strongly advise getting used to tap water, especailly since you should be drinking 2 litres or so, minimum, of water a day. Over here 600ml is about $2 a bottle, so you don't wanna be spending 6 bucks a day or 42 dollars a week on water

altohugh i don't know how youre buying it.

Anyway, i had bottle/spring water a few times, from a massive jug (6 litre) at someones house and it tastes like it had been perfumed. eeewwww that was some nasty shit. Other bottled water tastes exactly like tap water, so i don't really know what the big deal is?

Loup 11-19-2003 04:36 AM

Tap water that has run through the Brita Filter is the water of my choice.

RHix613 11-19-2003 08:15 AM

Zephyrhills Natural Spring Water is the best, cold or warm. I try to keep it cold, but I can handle it luke-warm also. Evian is my second choice, everything else I can taste the minerals. Tap water is the same, too many minerals and a lot of tap water around here (Florida) has a Sulphur taste to it.

tap water quality varies from city to city. My hometown is bearable, but Lafayette water is brown. I am not drinking poo water.

Nimbletoe 11-19-2003 08:42 AM

Evian. Have yet to find better bottled water. Tap filters aren't really a choice in college. I know there are ways to do it, but its just too much of a hassle when you can buy 32 bottles of water for like 4 or 5 bucks at sam's club =)

Also, Propel is really good. Its flavored, and usually I hate flavored water, but I reccommend trying it.

Thank god! I thought I was the only one that thought that!

I used to always drink Aquafina, then I realized that Wl-Marts "Sam's Choice" water is much cheaper and tastes good, too. You can buy it in bulk from Sams Club for next to nothing compared to the big brands.

sailor 11-19-2003 09:00 AM

When Im at home, I drink water from the tap, but here at school, the water tastes pretty nasty (old pipes). So I drink bottled water. I usually drink Deer Park--its cheap, and tastes pretty good. But Ill drink about anything. Heck, the last few cases I bought were Harris Teeter brand, which is nothing more than municipal water from somewhere else.

Plan9Senior 11-19-2003 10:13 AM

I drink so much water daily that I just bought one of those Brita Water pitchers to filter my water. Works great too.

RemyLebeau97 11-19-2003 05:19 PM

Aquafina, my neighbor is a rep. for the company, he got tha hook up.

jokeR`afk 11-19-2003 06:08 PM

The best bottled water by far is Aberfoyle! Its one of the cheapest you can get, and in this case price is NOT an indicator of quality. I haven't used the tap for water for so long, and when I have to I hate it. If I can't get Aberfoyle when I'm out then Montclaire I find is the closest to it.

bing bing 11-20-2003 01:06 AM

The tap water where i live is far superior to any bottled water. However, if for some reason i do need to buy bottled water, i make sure it's filtered as apposed to spring water as spring often contains chlorine. I'm pretty interested in keeping my teeth. :)

Manwich 11-20-2003 01:24 AM

Brita gallon pitcher with a filter. The water in my apartment complex is too hard, and leaves a dry taste in my mouth. Not thirst quenching at all.

Given I don't have a car, carrying 5 gallons of water from the market every week isn't a fun option.

spived2 11-20-2003 02:34 AM

Since I'm in the middle east, the ONLY water we can drink is bottled water, so I've had a fair share of brands. My favorite so far is aquafina. Doesn't leave that funny metal taste that mineral waters. No funny flavors of it's own, just pure, natural spring water.

Mehoni 11-20-2003 06:16 AM

I think Evian tastes "dead". I don't know what is wrong with it..

But in the US, I'd say Poland Springs.
Over here, Imsdal, norwegian springwater. Thouch, over here, 99% drink tap water so bottled water isn't that big.

cheezhead 11-20-2003 06:37 AM

Propel is my favorite.Lemon flavor.

txd 11-20-2003 08:30 AM

volvic or tap water through a water filter

majik_6 11-20-2003 11:10 AM

For still water, I prefer Evian or Voss. Both have an incredibly clean, crisp taste that holds up even as the water becomes warm. Voss is a little hard to find around here, though. I can stomach most of them, though. These are just the ones I choose when possible.

For sparkling water (not the fizzy carbonated stuff you see in the kiddie section) I like San Pellegrino, Perrier, Voss Sparkling, and Luciano (or something like that, I've only seen it one place) or a Mexican one, Topo Chico maybe?

oh, i forgot about that stuff.

I love the Black Cherry.

unique 11-20-2003 04:42 PM

Dasani is my favorite cuz it doesnt taste like anything. I like arrowhead too but i heard it isnt any good.

ickma 11-21-2003 01:07 PM

I usually get aberfoyle because it's cheap and I get it bottled mostly for the conveniance of being able to carry it around a lot. I also have a fridge that dispenses water and I put a filter on the pipe going to it so that works well too.

Mad_Gecko 11-21-2003 02:57 PM

Evian, or some other =.

Normally I stick to tap water, crossed with a high % alcohol drink (kills the bugs).

I never heard of anyone getting montezuma's revenge drinking tequila :).

I agree, there is a strange flavor to Evian. I usually drink either Dasani or Aquafina when I drink bottled water.

At home, I only drink filtered water becuase it tastes bad straight from the tap.

At the gym, I drink bottled water because their tap water is the same as mine.

bernadette 11-23-2003 12:34 PM

evian & perrier are my favs.

we used to have calistoga delivered, but they got bought out by arrowhead, so arrowhead is mostly what is found at our house.

once upon a time we had alhambra delivered, but it got to tasting especially odd, so we switched.

WarWagon 11-23-2003 09:45 PM

Ice Mountain, we can get it the cheapest. 2 of us go through at least 72 bottles a week.

NbCal 11-24-2003 12:05 AM

I like aquafina and arrowhead, although I usually drink filtered tap.

Jeff 11-24-2003 08:26 PM

I don't drink bottled water, our city water comes from a well, it's great. But think of your teeth...
Quote:

Children who drink too much bottled water may be putting their teeth at risk, according to a new study.
The research, which tested 25 of the most popular brands, says that bottled water does not contain enough fluoride, which protects teeth from decay.

Children who drank bottled water sometimes got only half the amount of fluoride that people who used fluoridated tap water received.

SparklingDot 11-24-2003 10:30 PM

AQUAFINA! Cool bottle design and yummy. Tap water is fine too, but I can't exactly bring a working faucet with me all the time, now can I?
