I found a lot of information when I searched under my real name, mostly about this kid that died when his firestone tires exploded on his Explorer in 1998.
the only thing I found under my nickname was todays active topics here at tfp. |

The thing to worry about is when you go to a job interview if they are just curious about you they can do a google search on your name. If it is not high priority or a job that requires security clearance all you need is google for a simple background check! I try to make my name come back with only good results that would help me in that regards.
I've looked up some info on old friends this way! The only things that come up for mine is my linux counter entry and a quote I had made in my college newspaper. |

my alias here is impossible to narrow down, because of what it is, but I have a name or two i use for certain things that will occasionally pop up... it's always interesting to see.
update: apparently there is a guy who writes or is in the American Institute of physics who has my exact name... and my last name is EXTREMELY uncommon... same first, MIDDLE, and last name... kinda creepy... Last edited by analog; 12-06-2003 at 01:19 AM.. |

My more commonly used username (aka not this one) has several hundred thousand hits, though I can only claim a couple thousand. I actually get introduced to people by that name, oddly enough.
My real name has about 10 hits, all me. I try not to use my full name when at all possible.

I was surprised when I searched my nickname as one name, not three words. There is even a site called thingstodo. Makes sense.

My user name is a teeny bopper movie starring Kirsen Dunst, which I have actually never seen, but thought the title sounded cool. My real name pops up with articles I've written for my Univeristy's newspaper, (which makes me feel kinda special). I have an usual last name, so searchs on me can be pretty accurate
