Ebay woes

I sold a headunit a long time ago on Ebay, when I sold it was working and he said that he wasn't able to get it to work etc etc. I filed all the paper work with Ups because it was insured and I though he'd gotten his money all of a sudden I get this E-Mail saying that he'd contacted his police internet fraud department and that he was going to sue me for 90.99 for the stereo and the 350.00 for filing the papers, "witch i know i will get from what the investigator told me," is what part of what he said in his e-mails. Im going to send a check for 90.99 to get him to shut up, but does he really have a case? I mean, 90.99 is pretty trivial and EBay will refund up to like 200 dollars with there build in protection. I just hate to have to deal with court and having my name tarnished, it's just something that I dont want to deal with but 90.99 is a lot better than a lawsuit. Oh well, any thoughts?

I'd guess that he is bluffing. There are easier avenues to get his money back than paying $350.00 for filing the papers.. But I'm not sure, maybe someone else can give better advice.

That guy sounds like a jerk, eBay encourages people to resolve their issues with each other before going to extremes, did he even let you know what was going on (or NOT going on) with the UPS insurance before saying you were getting sued? I would talk to UPS about the insurance issue if you haven't already, why are they not paying on the insured item? Or perhaps they did pay him, and the guy is a dunce trying to rip you off.

I wonder what his feedbacks say about him.

umm... It is $35 to file small claims

Just go to ebay and follow their pages that outline what to do.

It also depends on where he files. If he is filing locally to him, the likelihood of them enforcing judgment against you is very remote.
