Relocation

I'm thinking of relocating form Indiana to the Northeast coast, what I want from you guys and gals is to tell me a great place to live. This should include a good job market, good schools (fututre children), beautiful surroundings and not to mention a basic great qualtiy of life. Vermont, Maine have tweaked my interest.

Vermont is a very rural area, for pretty much the whole state, I went through it on the way to a crew meet once and didnt even notice.
Maine is ok, too, I used to live in NH, and NY, and I think NY would be the best, although the city is crowded, upstate was pretty nice, but the job market upstate is not great (Kodak, Polaroid, and Xerox all have headquarters in Rochester).
Boston is good too, although commute and transport generally sucks..
Try for Maine, it sounds like the best option. As far as education, kids can go anywhere once they are in college, and before that they can learn just as much anywhere depending on how their brought up and the neighbourhood you live in.

hope that helps

Vt and and ME are gorgeous states tough to find certain jobs there though and my oh my is it ever cold in the winter I lived in Mass for awhile and it gets freezing up there so I hope that doesn't bother you. What are you looking to do for a living??

An old acquaintance moved to Maine a couple of years ago, and she told me the job situation up there is pretty bleak (she and her hubby were computer retail/support people). When moving anywhere, your personal economics is the first thing to consider, above climate, trees, and anything else.

Before you decide to move anywhere, visit first and pick up all the intelligence you can. I'd block out a few weeks for a road trip, IIWY.
