better face
i was wondering if anyone knows of any homemade facials or just any tips on how to make your face clearer and clearer. my face is pretty oily and i have blemishes.
|
I just wash my face with soap and water everyday. My dad had acne and my older brother had a really bad pimple problem and I didn't want to end up the same. So far it's worked, knock on wood.:D
|
same i wash my face twice a day with just soap and water. I used to have a small problem with pimple's / oily, but not anymore :P
|
Yeah face washing, but I think Neutrogena (I don't care that I misspelled it) makes a cream, I used it and it worked for me.
|
Well i use Nivea for Men. Face cleansing stuff. It has no soap just vitamins and nutrients and shizzle like that.
But i dont have a problem with my face. Its just cleans it when i wake up and before i fall asleep. Makes you feel all smooth :> |
thanks so far. yeah, i dont have major problems or major acne or anything, just some small blemishes now and then, i go through phases. its kinda oily too. just want to make it healthier, cleaner, clearer and smoother... any other ideas??

I just use Clearasil Daily Face Wash twice a day. I've found most of blemishes come from not staying on top of shaving, not enough sleep (irregular sleeping patterns), and a bad diet (grease, highly-processed carbs like breads and things like pizza dough).
I unfortunately had it pretty bad through high-school and the beginning of college before I spoke with my dermatologist and got put on Acutane. This stuff is the 'final step' of medicines, so you wouldn't need something this drastic by the sounds of it. Don't be afraid to get a little 'feminine' and buy some better skin care products that girls would typically use. It's always better to have a completely clear face and healthy vibrant skin, no matter who you are dealing with, hehe. |
Depends on how bad mate. If its really serious you should go on the medication. Otherwise, just keep your face clean aswell as your hair and pillowcase- and try to have good nutrition too.
Some people are just unlucky. I knew this guy who had the worst acne in the world- and he was a health freak, exercised heeps and kept himself clean. |
Neutragena (spelling) has a wonderful oil-free facial wash. Great stuff. It looks like liquid hand soap that you pump out. It's orange. Use that at night and in the morning.
If you are a guy and you shave, use Neutragena Razor Defense shaving gel. Again, great stuff. For blemishes, pick up some vitamin e facial gel and tea tree oil. Also, get some exercise, go out for a jog three or four times a week so that you are sweating. Sweating will help to clear up your skin because you are sweating the oil and bad stuff out of your system. Just be sure to shower and clean up afterwards. Plus, if you get into better shape, you will start to feel better about yourself and that's really what it's all about. Finally, watch what you eat. It might be an allergic reaction to dairy products. It might be a reaction to highly processed foods. It might be a reaction to anything. Eat bananas. Try to eat one a day. They are packed with great vitamins. Hope that helps. |
Try Cetaphil.
I used it when I was younger and it really helped. It's great especially if you have sensitive skin like I do! |
yup as soon as you wake up wash your face and make it the last thing you do before bed, and maybe once in the middle if you are feeling crazy oily!!
|
Apparently cum is meant to be good for pimples. Great for your girlfriend...
|
you know along those same lines I was watching a talk show once and they had one of those "home remedy" guys come out. He said the best way to get rid of acne is to take your first urine of the day and pee on a washcloth and rub your face with it. Needless to say I have never tried it but hey if nothing else works for ya and you are feeling desperate. I swear on my life this is absolutely true because I remember the host saying how the hell did you find this out?? And who is the poor bastard using the second urine of the day??

Face wash with Triclosan works good for me. Clearasil makes some, but so does Hy-Vee. It doesn't overdry- which was my main problem with the other things I tried, would dry up my face and make it peel, etc..

1. clean
2. tone 3. exfoliate 4. moisturize 1. Soap can work but it can overdry your face. Use something else that's oil-free if looking in the general direction of a pizza makes you break out. Lather with warm-hot water for best results. 2. Toning is optional (closing up pores), helps some people and hurts others. It doesn't work for me but if you want to, use something like witch hazel that doesn't contain alcohol because it sucks the moisture out of your face. 3. Exfoliate - clear off the dead skin with a loofa or something scrubby. I use a daily wash that has some gritty stuff in it (daily pore cleanser with micro-crystals) so it's a 2-in-1 clean and exfoliate. 4. Moisturize! Do it. When you clean your face it clears away the oil and your skin dries up. And your skin's response? "Need moisture! More oil!" And you break out. So if you clean you MUST moisturize. This step you can never ever skip or you will be worse off than before. Use cold water here. Guys don't worry, if you want a clean face but not much hassle and "girly stuff" just do step 1 and step 4. Not as effective but still works. Just clean with a face soap and moisturize with moisturizer. I recommend oil-free face moisturizer and oil-free pore cleanser. Easy/quick/lazy method: Clean your face in the shower and then go to the sink, splash cold water, apply a pea-sized amount of moisturizer and you're done for the day. |
the proctive plan you see advertised on TV realy worked for me. ALthough the repairng lotion did dry out my skin. I started cutting the dosage in half and things got better. I am 26 years old and for the first time in over 10 years i think my acne is finally starting to subside. I stil get very oily under stressful situations but it is getting a lot better.....thank GOODNESS! Acne has been the hardest thing i have had to deal with, on a consistent level, in my entire life. Good luck to all who suffer from it and may you find something that helps until you eventually grow out of it. Hopefully, my time has come!

I wash my face with a benzyl peroxide wash everyday 2x, keeps my face pretty clean but it does leave complexion
|
Cetaphil does a very good job, though I am very partial to the facial scrubs/exfoliators with the very coarse texture, a bunch of companies make them. They do an awesome job.

Dude,
My GF went to Ella Bache to get special facial today. Thier tips for great skin is no long hot showers, no soap on the face, no toner and not much sun. |
No soap? How are you supposed to wash the oils off your face? And sun dries out your skin, helping rid of acne if you have any. So ummm, unless they're talking about someone that has good skin and just wants it to be a little better or something, thats retarded advice.
|
I use Cetaphil or Nutragena face wash along with moisturiser (oil of olay for the face or nutragena) afterwards and I have zero problems with zits.
