I need to get in shape
Ok, I really need to start working out. I have a gut and a very puny upper body. In thelast few weeks I have started playing basketball, doing pushups, the grip thingy that you squeeze, and curls with a rubberband thing (well the rubber band thingy was cheap and it broke recently). I am starting to see some slight results and want to step it up a little.
The only place that I have any fat really is my gut everything else is pretty skinny. How can I change my diet and what are some exercises that dont require a gym or an expensive weight set. Any help would be appreciated. Any one know of some web sites that offer good advice? Thanks

Try limiting your carbs to only 3-4 per day and switching to whole grain carbs. This should help eliminate some of the stomach flub. Also, if you would like to tone that area, start doing crunches (on a mat or on a ball). Also try bicycles. Lunges, squats, and tricep dips are also great and you don't need any equipment for these.

Listen to me very carefully, I have the perfect answer and I speak from personal experience. The best way to lose weight if you have spare time is ALBERTSONS NIGHT STOCK. Yes, you heard me right, not only will you be running full speed and throwing 60lb boxes around like a wild animal, but you'll also get paid to do so.
It's the only gym that PAYS YOU. |

Doing all that stuff you mentioned is great, but if you really want to lose the gut, cut back your food intake and up your cardio workouts. Take a brisk walk for 20 minutes everyday and cut yoru meal portions in half. After you've eaten that, wait for 15 minutes or more before eating more becuase you're still hungry. It takes your body some time to register that there's food in the belly, you'll find your cravings will disappear before too long. The most important thing to do is make sure what you're doing is something that is sustainable. Make changes that you can live with in the long run or you will just end up giving up. Every little bit helps

yellowgowild, too bad right now you'd be holding a lockout sign because of the strike down here.
Seriously though, my dad had a gut, I bought him a bike for his b-day - he weighs only a bit more than me now, and can kick my ass in a race too... |
