Wireless tech jobs
Wireless technology seems like it's a booming industry and won't go to crap anytime soon. I am very interested in possibly pursuing a career in some form of wireless tech, but not sure where to begin. Any advice or resources?

My wife and I moved to Long Island 3 years ago to work for a wireless tech company RTS Wireless in Woodbury. We had 3 friends that left Viacom to work for this company and both my wife and I were excited that we were going to get picked up by RTS. Company was bought by Aether Systems, hiring put on hold.
RTS technology was assimilated and Aether shut down that facility. RTS main product was ASP hosting for AOL connectivity with wireless phones. They also created other applications for widespread distribution of clustered servers for infrastructure purposes. No job. From what I know of the wireless industry is that it's a closed niche market. If you think that it's tough to get a job in the tech field a niche job makes it even that much harder. There's already only a handful of companies that are providing applications and service for the wireless industry. I would suggest reading some of the wireless industry mags. It will give you some history, primers, and also current inside information on what's happening within the industry. Good Luck!
