I need to gain 10 lbs. or more in a little less than a month.
Hey,
I need to gain 10+ lbs. in about 3 and a half weeks. Now, me being a slim guy, It's tough for me to gain weight. I'm at about 155 right now, and I need to get to 165, although 170 would be ideal. This is extremely important and your help is much appreciated. Thanks. ![]()

There's only one solution to this. Eat. Yes, stuff your face. Drinking milk for breakfast? Wrong! Drink cream. Eating a burger? Slop on the mayo and cheese! It's not very healthy, and usually rapid weight gain/loss is not. If you really want it though, stop reading this and chove your face in some food
![]() Every pound = 3600 calories. So you need and extra 36000 calories on top of what you already eat, capiche?

First off, why do you need to gain 10+ lbs in one month, and what is your ideal physique that you are trying to achieve? You can put on 10 lbs of fat easy, the problem lies in when you decide you want to look good and remove that fat. It will take you about 10 weeks to get back to normal factoring in that you can only lose 1 lb a month of fat (anything over that and you are losing muscle with it)

Ten pounds in a month; the only way you're gaining that is if it's mostly fat. You're not telling us much; the only reason I can see for this is that you're applying for some job or program that requires you to be at a certain weight.
Well, you're going to have to eat, and lafemmefatale has given you a pretty good idea of what you'll have to do. I have two things to add: * Eat a lot of ice cream; it's high cal, breaks down easily in the stomach, and the fat and sugar it contains are easily absorbed. *Drink all the sugared soft drinks that you can. I read about this: soft drinks contain 150-250 calories each per 12oz, _but they don't affect your appetite._ I don't remember why, probably because they're mainly sugar and your body doesn't have to spend any resources on breaking it down. So if you have three cokes before dinner and three with it, that's an extra 700-1000 calories right there that you won't even feel. Why do you think so many teenagers have trouble with weight? ("I only had a coke.") Mind you, by the time this is over you'll feel like total crap, you won't like the way you look, and you'll never want food again. Hope it's worth it. |

Im 157 and not *that* skinny. I have a little excess flab, and muscle too..Im also 6 feet tall. So.....
![]() Also why would you want to gain 10 pounds in a month? You really do have to tell us ![]() But theres absolutley no way you could gain 10 pounds of lean muscle in tha time, and otherwise it's just not worth it. You do not want to look at yourself in the mirror a month from now and see 10 extra pounds of fat ![]()

Ok, I'll give in.
![]() Basically, I'm playing in a National caliber baseball tournament at the end of this month. There are going to be tons of college and professional scouts there. I'm not looking to just becoming fatter, but leaner with more weight I guess. I'm about 5'11, so if I got to a strong 170, that would be ideal. I will be incorperating weight lifting with the food consumption, so hopefully that will help too. Also, I think I'm going to head down to GNC and get myself one of those "Weight Gainer 2000" products.

No
no no that's a TERRIBLE idea ![]() Working out, and gaining weight will AFFECT YOUR GAME. You will be stronger, but it will take a LOT of time to adjust. You'll strike out where you usually would hit a line drive, you'll throw the ball over the first-baseman's head where you'd usually throw it straight to his glove. If you had a year, then yes, you could possibly make this work. But in a month, you won't be able to gain more then a few pounds, and you'll screw up your game and not be able to adjust before the tournament. That's why professional players rarely do serious training during the season, they gain weight during the off-season and then just do cardio for the length of the season.

Re: I need to gain 10 lbs. or more in a little less than a month.
Attempting to gain or lose weight quickly is probably a bad idea. That being said...
Dr. Nick: Now there are many options available for dangerously underweighted individuals like yourself. I recommend a slow steady gorging process combined with assal horizontology. Homer: [pensive] Of course. Nick: [points to a chart] You'll want to focus on the neglected food groups such as the whipped group, the congealed group and the chocotastic! Homer: What can I do to speed the whole thing up, Doctor? Nick: Well...be creative. Instead of making sandwiches with bread, use poptarts. Instead of chewing gum, chew bacon, heh... Bart: You could brush your teeth with milkshakes! Dr. Nick: Hey, did you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College too? And remember, if you're not sure about something, rub it against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it's your window to weight gain. |
