Hydro Colon Therapy Cleansing..Any done this before?

i think its called Hydro therapy colon cleansing, where they shoot water up your colon to "clean" it out of all the buildup in ur colon.

supposedly, its suppose to make u healthier and feel better. i've read about a lot of celebrities and athletes doing this

has anyone here done it yet? if so:

1. cost?
2. pain?
3. how long does it take in the session?
4. side effects
5. did you notice a difference in ur body or health?

some doctors are saying its another way to make money w/o any real health benefits and can actually do more harm then good..

Your last statement is what I understand to be correct.

I would never try that, Ive heard it can be bad for your digestive tract.

It sounds more like torture to me.

Just go on a cleansing diet, gotta eat nothing but veges for a couple of weeks... one of my friends went on one.. if he comes across this he can put up his experience and how he is now.

One of my other friends told me about the crap that can build up along the intestinal wall.. :hmm: was abit of an eye opener.. anyways..

as golden said, if you eat just veges and fruit then it should naturally cleanse your colon. If you just eat fruits in the morning and only fruit with water it helps cleanse the colon, thats what i have done, although i don't know how i know it works??
The only sign is that for the first few days, when you go to the toilet its a bit like diarrhoea, thats just all the other stuff which is attached or stuck in you intenstinal walls. I have read a little bit in a book about it, and it seems to work.
Another thing is that when you have a cold you get less build up of mucus, on a cleasing diet

Hah, yeah, fiber will do it. Just eat some bran cereal or something of the like and grab a newspaper.

There is no scientific basis for fasts of any kind.
There is no scientific basis for the many statements of intestinal transit time i.e. claims of food particles and break down products that somehow are "never" released until you do "this" special fasting. There is never any specific chemical structures given when 100's of books, websites etc... that claim this method and others will rid your body of the "toxins". I love that ... "toxins" .. many of these are written by members of the medical fraternity, surely one of them could spring for just one chemical name, just one.

If however, these eating habits are part of spiritual/religious beliefs and you honestly feel better for them, go for it. My comments are based at those who babble pseudo-science at non-technical people and mislead both the consumer and cheapen that same consumers future respect for the medical community.

One thing remains and one thing only. If there is build up of any sort inside your body, i.e. Tar, plaque in arteries, e.t.c..... your body will either :-

a) get rid of it

b) die of cancer


That's it, build up can not be removed except surgically, period!!!!

Hmmm. I've read about a lot of celebrities and athletes drinking too much alcohol and using large amounts of cocaine. Does that make it a good model for the rest of us to follow? They probably have a lot of money to help insulate them from the consequences of their actions. Why not ask your own doctor about this?
