Creatine, elixir of the gods
Anyone take this stuff? Does it really help at all? Are there nasty-ass side effects that come with it?
A study I read about says that creatine supplements not only help you build muscles, but also make you smarter. Your normal mental capacity of seven blocks goes up to about 8.5. Which is fuckin' incredible. And I'm not much of a muscle fan, but a smartness pill be mighty tempting... |

There's been a lot of discussion about it here:
http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...threadid=18926 But haven't heard much about the smartness other than the one study you mention - that it increases the length of information blocks you can hold in memory.

I used creatine about two years ago and I had massive gains in a very short amount of time. I had to quit using it though because I ran cross country for my high school and it affected my running. The gains I made disappeared as quickly as I made them. My muscles shrunk and I never used it again. I would recommend not using it and just sticking with protein if you want to take any supplement at all, unless you want to use creatine for the rest of your life to keep your muscle mass. As for the brain capacity thing I have no idea.
