Curly
I'm a guy, and I have curly hair, and I hate it. I'd like to straighten it or something, but I don't want to use chemicals, or expensive techniques that could be harmful to my scalp. Blowdrying it when it's dry and brushing it can sometimes give an ok effect, but other times it ends up as a total mess. Any other curly haired sufferers wanna give me tips on straightening out the hair? And no, I don't want to cut it, sure it's straight when it's short but I don't want it short at the moment.

Re: Curly
Grow it out and go for the trendy white guy afro.

Cut it short enough so that the curls don't show. That's a much better look than the afro. |
Why don't you buy a hair straightener?
It uses heat to press the hair straight, so no chemicals, but it can be drying on your hair so you might need to get an appropriate shampoo/conditioner. |
Dude. Afro. Seriously. Go for it, go all out. Retro man, retro. I'm serious.

I have really curly hair as well, and thanks to my lovely gene pool it's blonde. I gave up trying to deal with it and let it grow out into what I guess is a really non-controlled fro.

I have curly hair. I was eventually able to grow it out and put it in a tail. It works.

regular or chemical hair straightner should work wonders. Just depends on how straight you want it.

Dudes, I already pretty much have an afro ;p

Get some dred wax and go with dredlocks.

Give up!
I have fairly curly hair. I don't really worry about it. I attempt to culture what is often known as the Fraggle Look. It's the height of fashion. |
You can get a cheap Conair straightener for about 20 $ if you don't want to spend 100 on a ceramic. The one I use has a water compartment so it creates a little steam so that it doesn't dry your hair out as much. I have wavy sometimes frizzy hair so I don't know how well it will work on curly hair, it might take a little longer.
