what do you do?
i was debating posting this on tilted sexuality.. but i figure this could be more general..
i recently broke up with my bf and was wondering what you all do to cope with any heartbreaks, etc. it doesnt have to be breaking up but.. losing a loved one, getting laid off, loosing hope, inspiration, ambition.... what do you do when you're down? i like to sit back with a good sappy movie and let out a much needed tearfest. go out with friends.. talk it out. sit on the computer for hours.. chat with people i don't know anonymous to my circle of friends.. talk it out. post on the tfp ![]() eat a lot of ice cream. hehe. or..don't eat at all. sit in my room..listen to music. lay down. paint pictures... read a book. write in my journal. i just try to distract myself and carry on i guess. life goes on. but most importantly, i cry when i feel like crying. and i laugh when i feel like laughing. i don't resist my emotions.. i honour them and respect them and just... go with it.

I sleep alot when I'm down.
Don't think it helps me any though. I'm not much of a talker and I guess sleeping keeps me from having to 'talk' to myself about it. When not sleeping I usually work on something like wario said. life just goes on for me. But bad things do tend to stick with me for a long time... (probably because of my 'keep shut' way of coping with it)

I try to get myself wrapped up in work and my extra-curricular activites. The busier I am (with work), the less I have to think about it. And the more fun I'm having (with my e-c activities), the less I am thinking about it.

One of two routes. Either do things that are totally time wasting (going online and checking out every site you have in your favorites) or do things that will take my mind off things. Projects around the house, trips to faraway places, etc.

its kinda funny that people say using drugs to get away from your problems is wrong but gettin lost in work is ok. personnally i dont really know what i do but when it happends i deal. the thing is that no matter what you do, sex, work, drugs, etc..., you are still gonna have the problems when you get back to reality.
so the way i see it is that just do whatever u need to do *without hurting yourself* to get your mind off the subject for a bit, then come back to life and say ok i gotta sit down and deal with this shit. if you can just realize what you gotta do with out that first step, than u are awsoem and go for it. but i dont think most ppl can. just my thoughts. |
