Solicitors: Just doing their job or assnuts?
 

Me, I think they're assholes. But before you judge me you need to keep in mind I get a solicitor nearly every day, if not 2 or 3. But that's not really the point (my own problem isn't the point).

Do you think door-to-door solicitors are assnuts? I think they are. Why are they on my property? I'd love to give them a punch to the face, even if they are religious nuts. And I really shouldn't have to buy signs or anything just to get off their frakking list. It should be the other way around, those who want solicitors can have a bend over and fuck me sign on their porch.

Annoying, yes. Assholes, probably not.

More than likely trying to make some sort of living, just like the rest of us. I can't imagine someone growing up and waiting for the day they can knock on a stranger's door, beg for a sale, and repeat several hundred times a day, even after doors slammed in face 99.5% of the time.

& doors slamming probably cuts into their profit margin less than making a lot of small talk & only then refusing the sale. They are your fellow human beings, Zeraph!

I mostly despise my kind and would hunt human if possible.

I really don't mind them much as I find the patience and thirty or so seconds it takes to shoo away the Jehova's Witnesses keeps me ground in some inexplicable way. Being Robo-called is way more annoying since all you can do is hang up and there's no satisfaction to be had from being nice despite the inconvenience and not being interested.

But yeah, Zeraph, it sounds like you need either a vacation or six months in a really shitty retail job. Empathy.

I feel bad that our economy is in such bad shape that people are forced to do such degrading and thankless work. I don't feel so bad, though, that I humor them or give them any of my time.

I quit my Comcast internet service a while back due to throttling and download caps (switched to AT&T, which I now regret). Recently Comcast solicitors have shown up to my door and I've had to explain to each of them that 1) I have absolutely no interest in switching back to Comcast because I don't trust them and then 2) price and download speed are not the only two factors in choosing internet. I'm never, ever rude, I never pretend to not be home, but I owe it to them to not waste their time and to give them my honest answer.
