Sorry if I came off a little harsh last night... my point of the post really was to explain her habit, laugh about it and see if anyone else experiences the same thing. :)

it's a big a deal that you'd ask a set of strangers on an online discussion board. Its a big deal.


first of all, how old are you guys?

secondly, is she answering her own question when she talks to you or is she just changing the topic due cause of a lack of response?

I have an ex who did the same thing. It took me a while to figure it out. She would hold the phone closer to her mouth when she talked so she couldn't hear me. It drove me nuts.

I have a friend who does this. She answers her own questions when talking to me so by the end of the phone call I would have gotten in a "Hello" and "Yeah" and "K-talk-l8trz".

It's fun.

So help me... true story: I was in a friend's office. His wife called & started talking. He opened a drawer & put the phone in it!! Every couple of minutes he'd listen, say "uh-huh" or "Yeah", & put it back in the drawer. This went on for 10 minutes until there was this silence from the drawer. He grabbed the phone, apologised & said someone had just come in and he'd missed what she'd just said & he would call her back.

To this day, she has no idea he did this (& probably still does).

GreyWolf, that's pretty disrespectful, but if the guy's wife was a yapper I do understand.

Not much you can do man, she just lacks proper phone skizzles.

I'm a visual learner. It drives me crazy to talk on the phone because I can't see the person I'm talking to and their expressions, physical reactions, etc., so my phone conversation are super-short when I must have them. It could be that she talks over you to try to compensate for what she can't see that she normally would see in the conversations that you have in person. Maybe she doesn't even realize that she is doing this.

you know what really irks me worse than a yapping fiance?

bad forum posting habits.

People who start threads asking people for advice and then decide to delete their opening posts. it realllly gets under my skin and fucks up the whole thread.

Seriously, relax people. This guy's been with us since 2003. If he was 17 when he joined, that's water under the bridge. If he's 17 now, he was 10 when he joined.

I never said the face wasn't a problem. Aesthetically challenged is aesthetically challenged. The comment about tits was just in regards to the Frankenstein of an impression they've left in my mind.
