24 hr PEACENIKS
 

On my recent trip to the East coast I was outside the White House when Netanyahu arrived to meet with O. Among the Sri Lanka and Irsael protesters there was a large handmade sign planted in the ground saying that there has been a 24 hour vigil at that spot since 1981 in protest of nuclear war. I later asked a guard about it, and he told me with some admiration that 3 men (now just 2 since 1 has died) have indeed laid vigil there. Since it was very crowded with newsmen and protesters I did not have an opportunity to find out more about this, or meet/interview either of the men.

Does anyone else know about this? I'm surprised that I haven't until now, and I'm curious and reverential.
