Your Favourite Article of Clothing

I'm sitting here wearing my favourite t-shirt. It's one that Magpie gave me. This one, actually. It's witty, it's obscure and it references an 80's pop song. Nobody gets it without explanation, but I love it anyway.

Who else has a favourite item they want to share?

genuinegirly 06-03-2009 09:37 AM

I love that song!

My favorite article of clothing changes from one week to the next.
A the moment I love a skirt that a friend gave to me. She made it by sewing together samples of upholstery fabric, mianly in gold tones.

Redlemon 06-03-2009 09:41 AM

I don't know if I would have understood it if you had not mentioned that it was a musical reference, but with it, I got it immediately.

My son (or rather, my wife, since he was very young) got me this for Father's day:

currently, my favorite article of clothing is a salmon pink short-sleeve cashmere sweater I found at the Salvation Army...I feel like Lana Turner circa 1949 when I wear it. :)

SabrinaFair 06-03-2009 01:05 PM

My summer-weight little black dress. Black linen, A-line, sleeveless. Timeless, classic, and can be worn a thousand different different ways. I absolutely love it, and when I put it on I feel sexy and chic.

roachboy 06-03-2009 01:11 PM

i love my TOTAL GAYLORD tee-shirt.

i means that i am totally an octagonal corrugated cardboard packaging object.

squeeeb 06-03-2009 01:13 PM

favorite is difficult. i love my chuck converse high tops, they are pretty much the only shoe i wear. i like my periodic table of the elements tshirt, and i really like my salvador dali tshirt.

noodle 06-03-2009 01:13 PM

Martian, I can't believe you have to explain that one! Sheesh!

I wish I had a favorite item of clothing. I don't really think about them that much.
I do feel most comfy when I slip on a certain pair of jeans and my reefs I've had for a long time and I do actively seek them out sometimes. But, I don't get attached to clothes. Maybe I need better clothes.

women are so lucky, they can get away with a summer weight dress. they seem so comfortable.

thespian86 06-03-2009 01:46 PM

I have two favorites.

My favorite t-shirt is this cheap, teal green tee from Old Navy. It says "No shoes, No Shirt, No Problem" in borderline indecipherable white lettering. I love it.

My favorite sweater is a navy blue cardigan. I wear it as much as possible.

My best female friend has a periodic table of the elements shirt. Come to think of it I should probably get her a new one, she has nearly worn it out.

vanblah 06-03-2009 02:04 PM

At home I go without clothing as much as possible.

I don't really have a favorite; I find all clothes equally restrictive and uncomfortable. I have some tailored shirts that get close to being comfortable ...

I have this green polo shirt from Mossimo that I love. It's made of this stretchy cotton that's almost like jersey. Super comfy and I look nice when I wear it--a combo that cannot be beat, in my mind.

ShaniFaye 06-03-2009 02:51 PM

my kilt inspector tank top and my plaid boxer shorts, those are my comfy clothes when I get home from work...if they are dirty then I switch out with black boxers and a black and white striped tank top with a pirate skull on it

CinnamonGirl 06-03-2009 02:59 PM

Martian, that is a totally awesome shirt.

One of my favorites is a t-shirt (brown, of course), that says "Browncoat" on the front and "I aim to misbehave" on the back.

I also have a long-ish black tanktop that seems to work with my body, instead of against it. Supercomfy as well.

For lounging around, I have a grrrrreat pair of Bengals flannel pants. They rock.

World's King 06-03-2009 03:12 PM

My Creepers...

little_tippler 06-03-2009 03:47 PM

I currently have a black and pink striped tie that says 'girls rock' on it...I rather like it.

I also have a bright purple shirt-top that I'm told really suits me and I like that too.

Ask me again tomorrow ;)

Seriously. It must be nice having the option of allowing the breeze to circulate around your naughty bits on a hot summer day.

My favorites always end up getting stained or torn before their time, and then they're no longer favorites. I currently have an ex-favorite black and white baseball tee and an ex-favorite plaid shirt.

genuinegirly 06-03-2009 05:14 PM

Inboil and Squee, you can always follow the example of these fine gentlemen picketing in a language I don't understand:

wooÐs 06-03-2009 08:21 PM

terry or velour lounge pants

all hail lounge pants

newtx 06-03-2009 08:29 PM

My current favorite article of clothing is my Barber Vintage Motorcycle race t-shirt from last year. A faded pair of Old Navy jeans would be next.

ItWasMe 06-03-2009 08:29 PM

I love my silky scarves, especially the blue one and the pink one. And the little black dress in my profile pic.

It is. :-)

I do feel bad for guys in the summer, particularly those I see at work. I can get away with a light-weight dress, and those poor bastards are stuck in coat and tie.

Want!

Doctor Tooth and the Electric Mayhem are without doubt the best band in the history of the world.

Can you picture that? For surely!

I also want an entire album of the Electric Mayhem covering songs. The couple of tracks here and there on Muppet albums are completely insufficient. But I'm not going through all the DVDs to compile all of this: Songs Performed by the Electric Mayhem.

(Isn't it "Fur sure... really"? And it is definitely "Dr. Teeth".)

Has to be my underbust corset from Gallery Serpentine.
