Dose anyone have experience going into the military with anxiety disorders?
So a quick summary, I'm in my mid-twenties, have a useless degree in psychology. I suffer from migraines, and a lot of anxiety. I've done what I can for my anxiety and migraines (covered that with docs the last few years). The good news is I finally figured out what I want to do with my life work wise (some kind of engineering).
My first problem is, I still have student loans from my first degree to pay off, and with rising prices and the economy I have doubts of whether I could even afford to go back to college. The second problem is I have some serious anxiety issues. I've gotten a lot better (and I have no idea how I made it through the first time). And I especially have anxiety with school for whatever reason. Soooo to get to the point, I'm wondering if I should turn to the military for my education. But I'm worried about the anxiety/stress problems I have and the migraines. So I'd like to hear any advice or experiences of someone who's been in the military with similar problems. |
Umm, FWIW I had a buddy go through OCS who had developed anxiety problems. He had several anxiety attacks and washed out.
The Military isn't particularly stressful day-to-day. But when it is, it really is. If they let you in you will be expected to handle your issues and continue to perform regardless of how you feel. Good luck. |
