There's a thread here about first date suggestions. I'm betting that even if it's a second, third, or even just something to do with friends or family, both of you look at each other and say,"What do you want to do?" "I dunno, what do you wanna do?" And then you wind up sitting in front of the TV for the day doing nothing.

So the purpose of this thread is to have a pool of different activities that aren't location centric. For example, go visit the Empire State Building isn't helpful to someone who lives in Florida. Go visit the beach, well that can work for someone who is landlocked because of lakes. If enough people post here we should be able to come back to this thread months from now when we're wondering what to do for the day and maybe you'll be able to get some inspiration from this thread.

Please read the other threads before posting so that duplicate posts are kept to a minimum.

Good grief, I've got a million of them. Where do I start? My wife and I write these ideas down whenever we think of one, and then randomly draw one out whenever we're stuck for something to do.

Some of our more recent ones (not in any particular order) include:

1) If it's during the day, go to a local grove to pick fruit and then go home and cook something with it together.

2) Pick a topic that interests you at that moment, make a list of every song you can think of that even remotely fits that topic, gather those songs (private collection or p2p), and burn a CD to commemorate the day.

3) Attend a golf tournament. This was my wife's idea, and although we both hate golf, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the gallery at the tournament.

4) Wax her car together.

5) Go to Wal-Mart and buy one of those cheapo stained-glass window kits and make one together.

6) Bake a homemade cake or homemade cookies together.

7) Dress completely formally and eat at Burger King. This is a lot more fun than you might imagine, and everyone there treats you like absolute royalty (including employees and other customers).

8) Dress like tourists and ask strangers to take pictures of you all over town.

9) Play a complete game of Monopoly. While playing, call a local radio station to request songs for dedication. Each time they finally play it, keep calling back with another song for as long as the Monopoly game lasts.

10) Crash somebody's wedding reception.

11) Offer to cook a romantic meal for another couple (friends, I would hope) at their house.

That's great!!!!

I was hoping to not post until others posted, but warrrreagl's post just got me more and more excited about it so I'll post a few of my own.

1. Do a second Act. That means go to the local theater production and wait until intermission. When it's time for the 2nd act, walk in with everyone else and find some seats and watch the rest of the play.

2. Support the local actors, go to the local theater and watch a play.

3. Get your favorite board game and bring it to the park. don't forget to bring some snacks and beverages.

4. Go to the arts and crafts store, and get scrapbook materials and make a scrapbook to give to each other.

5. Take your cameras pick a subject and take pictures of that theme. Develop and compare them.
