Do I Stand A Chance To Get Into Business School?
I'm going to be a senior in college and really would like to get an MBA after working for a couple years. I haven't taken my school work too seriously and it shows in my GPA. I was wondering what my chances of getting into a decent business school are.
State College Engineering Major 3.1 GPA 650 GMAT (practice test) Also, what can I do from this point to improve my chances of getting into a decent business school?

Go work for a big company for a while, like a bank or a consultant. Often they'll pay for you to go to school while you work for them. Back when First Chicago still existed, they put a friend of mine through the University of Chicago, and several consulting friends went to the UofC or to Northwestern on Accenture's dime.
You need to differentiate yourself from the herd. The above is one way.

I hear it is best to take your test while you are still a senior. The further away you get from the classroon the tougher that thing gets. Otherwise, there are many business schools.
I think the biggest thing is figuring out what you want to do long term and understand why you want to go/what you want to accomplsih with business school and how that will help with your longer-term objectives. Why engineering and then moving to business? What's the connection? I know quite a few people with MBAs that really don't do anything much with them. I have two that report to me and I don't even have a degree.
