I know we are all having an warm fuzzy moment thinking about how much maturity is being seen but I am going to go out on a limb with something here. I've been in this exact situation, and one of the hard decisions of my life I ended up kicking the guy out (not changing the locks, and not just about the girl, it had become a “him or me” situation he was causing so much friction). I have since not spoken one word to him but I did feed him once (I was treating the house he was living as a guest of).

The guy was a dick, plain and simple. His life consisted of taking his sole enjoyment from manipulating those around him. He lived friend to friend until they got fed up or kicked him out. The girl thing was one of many issues that made me realize that guy is a manipulative snake.

I'm not saying she was my property or I had dibs on her, but he should respect our friendship enough to not piss on it by snaking her. Pig is right, it's not about her, it's about us. Amusingly there were 3 friends she was vibing with (we were all close friends with similar offerings I guess), I had just had a JinnKai style best man wins agreement with the 3rd guy, there were no hard feelings and the 3rd guy is my current best friend. That best man was me until the guy I kicked out came into the picture, had him or her come to me and said something I would have backed down. It's the fact that he was sneaky about it and didn’t see fit to have that discussion with me that bothers me.

However hindsight is 20/20 and I can say I am better off having ditched friend A and the girl, they were both bad friends. She started dating him because he had loaned me a 20 to ensure I had cash for our date, joke was on her when she found out that I have a good job and was just low on cash in pocket and he has no income (she already knew this, I don’t know how this flies, but it came from the horse’s mouth via a trusted friend). Oh and when he started dating her, he already had 1 girlfriend (long distance) who was oblivious to the situation. Guess who got to break her heart when he quit calling (after a year)?

It is alright to cut cancer out of your life. If you can honestly say this guy is then cut him.

I thought it was assumed that he was re-evaluating their friendship. No one said that being able to move on means he should let his friend walk all over him. I think it is completely possible to leave the situation behind and say to someone, "Sorry, I don't need you in my life."

I am in that process right now. I don't know how it's going to turn out. I've already terminated contact with the young woman in question. My friend however, I am still on the fence about.

The funny thing about the girl is that she has been texting the shit out of my best friend (different guy) trying to make sure her side of the story is out first.
