cheating and cheating

I started sleeping with a girl when I knew she was still involved with another dude (and technically, although in a farcical way, engaged to him)

She told me it was over between her and him... he treated her like shit, etc etc, and now it isn't and she loves him after all, and she's still together with him, and was all along and I guess I was a side thing.

In a way its insulting and annoying, and in a way its kind of flattering.

Anyway, I think its time to call it a day with her, but I wont talk about it to her boyfriend or anything, I dont want to mess things up for her, and what benefit would it give me?

But I suppose it is the lesson that everyone told me I would learn (or everyone who talked about it here)... I didnt really have a lot involved emotionally in it, but I do think - not being arrogant - she's making the wrong choice.

I mean, for all my faults, at least I didnt make her cry as he seems too pretty much on a weekly basis.

Then again, given that I just typed that I didnt really care - maybe we were both wrong choices.

No, seriously... I understand, man.

I've been in situations like this and you're doing the right thing.

Sex is awesome but sometimes it gets bad for the soul.

Sometimes it isn't enough of a reason to see someone.

I think you're making the right choice... both in quitting and in letting her choose to tell him or not. Just learn from the situation and move on. :)

ok, so she used you, you didn't get caught, and it's time to get the hell out? count your lucky stars dude - and run like the wind. If it wasn't meant to be, no use in sticking around, or causing hell in her neck of the woods. Just move on, find happiness.

If I were the fiance, I would want to know about this. But I can understand not wanting to get (more) involved in someone else's relationship.

*shrug* That's a slippery slope for everyone involved. Also, it's not necessarily a character weakness in her. If my wife decided to cheat (no, dear, I know you never would) and it was a one-off affair, one guy for a few weeks and she felt bad about it and realized it was wrong, I'd probably rather just not know it ever happened. If she turned into a whoring slut and was banging guys all the time, I'd certainly want to find out.

SF, man, I don't know about you. You turn 30 and start making intelligent, mature choices and stuff. I mean, that's why we don't trust people over 30, right? They tend to be all, what's the word? Sensible.

Way to go! Good on you for having some fun. Good on you for not making it more than that. And Good on you for knowing when it's over and letting it go.

Seriously. Good choices all around.

While SF is certainly biased in this to some degree, her fiance sounds like a prize winning prick. Some girls - well, no one actually needs it, but some girls gravitate toward guys who treat them like dirt. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

There's no need to earn one's shit disturber merit badge on this one.

Actually, she demonstrated why she is not the right one for you by her actions with you. Wouldn't you want a girl that would not cheat to start with? I think if she was seriously interested in you she would have left then other guy, then slept with you. You would have always had to wonder if she would do the same thing to you that she did to the other guy.
