Best Place to find out new events in the Bay Area (California)
I'm looking for unique things to do with a girl I'm seeing. I scoped out upcoming.org and it has been a great tool, although it has mostly nerdy events. I'm curious if there are any other places to check.

http://www.sfgate.com/eguide/ is the Chronicle's Entertainment section online.
CitySearch usually has good info: http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/ http://www.sfstation.com/ also looks like a good site.

the sister site of the wonderful gothamist.com problem for me with them is that they don't give much notice as to events coming up. Sometimes it's day of and once in a while it's a few days notice. http://sfweekly.com/ the cousin to the NYC Village Voice and LA Weekly.
