Looking for Roommates
Hi guys, I'm looking for a room to rent, and I have a dead line of November (of this year). For those of you that have had to look for a room to rent, I was wondering if you guys have any tips, pointers, etc, to help me out.
Currantly, I've looked at Craig's list, Roommates.com, and posted a thread in Tilted Events. The Roommates site, requires a premium account to read messages, and I don't have a credit card. Is there anything else I should try?

ok, where are you now, and where are you trying to live?
What do you do for a living, and what price range are you looking for? Do you have a car? What about good credit? If you are just looking for a room, then you are probably pretty flexible. Try to find a local newspaper online and check out their classifieds. If you are interested in an apartment, then start calling realestate agents in the area. Even if they can't help you personally, they will probably know someone who can.

Lots of newspapers post their classifieds online. Look there.
Are there are universities or colleges within the area you're looking? Look at their student papers.

I'm in Chihuahua, Mexico, and I'm looking for a place near East Los Angeles, CA. Just a room will be fine.
Thanks

Craigslist and the local alternative newspaper (not sure what it is in LA)...
You can always move in to a place nearby (if it's not East LA) and keep looking for something better. The Roommate site sucks, imho.

So far, I'm not having much luck. So I'm asking a buddy of mine, who lives in the area I want to move to, to help out.
Also, let's hope this ad I place on Craig's List helps: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/sha/459813344.html If you guys think I should make any changes to it, let me know, Thanks
