On Snoring....
I am about to start travelling with a band and have a couple problems that are connected.... i'm terribly anxious/self-conscious about sleeping in the same room with other people..... and i have a buzz-saw in my nose that activates when i sleep.
i know about those nose strips and am going to try them, but i wondered if there were other solutions out there that people knew about that didn't drastically alter my lifestyle. any advice is welcome however. thanks in advance.

a few years back - my father, a person who could give fred flintstone a run for his snoring money (he'd often snore so loudly, he'd wake himself up) was diagnosed with a heart condition - one of the things the doctor suggested doing (unrelated to snoring) was to raise the head of the bead a few inches (basically put the head of the bed on some blocks so he'd be sleeping on a slight tilt)
One or two nights into this - my mother wasn't getting any sleep at all becase she'd wake up in the middle of the night to deafening silence -raisign the head of the bed stopped his snorning and my mother was sure he'd died during the night... (I suppose after 40+ years of marriage you can get used to anything anyhow - try raising the head of the bed a few inches - put some blocks in your suitcase and see if it helps - as long as the bed isn't bolted to the ground.. it might work

yeah I have snoring issues too, some of it is weight related, my dad has sleep apnea and i've been suspected of having it too, cuz my ex had to kick me and wake me up cuz i'd just stop breathing for like a whole minute or something and then i'd shock myself awake cuz my body would be like "hey, hey, wake up damnit, you're not breathing!" but when I am breathing, WALLS TREMBLE.
I just try to sleep lightly on my side or, if I can manage a comfortable pillow, face down. |

i sound like an angry grizzly bear with a chainsaw when i sleep...and i've subjected many many people to it, unfortunately. warn them warn them warn them, and buy them earplugs...its all you can really do unless you go for surgery to open your airway or something....i find if you warn people ahead of time, they are a bit more forgiving....
