going to Dallas, have to have barbecue... if you can make time, head for Bone Daddy's. 8856 Spring Valley Road. Totally worth it.

Also might want to check out Begger Club if you are looking for some fun.
17449 Preston Road. sports bar, billiards, dance club, music errs on the side of techno, but overall a decent place.

D/FW is in the middle of nowhere, between the two cities. Have you chosen where you will be staying? The stockyards in Fort Worth can be a hoot on the weekend. Dallas is more cosmopolitan and Jazz Alley had a nice choice of music, at least back in my day.

Will is correct about Austin. My first time there was like being back in the real world.

Citystreets in Downtown Fort Worth is supposed to be a fun a place although I've never been.

Dallas has Deep Ellum, which is a fun scene.
Fort Worth is more of a dinner and movie downtown area.
Dallas is kinda...eh. Dallas is kinda evil anyway.
You could go to Billybobs in Arlington or Six flags...

Usually there are lots of concerts going on.

not much in Arlington that I know of...maybe a good BBQ place...and a chance to gawk at how much money they're dumping into the new cowboys stadium.

Downtown fort worth is relatively nice, as I recall, but I dont know of any specific things to do there.

if you ask about mexican food in fort worth, someone will probably try to take you to Joe-T Garcias...its pretty good.

I've heard that deep ellum is sort of dead now, lower greenville is sort of thug-ish...and apparently a good place to get into a fight.

most of the people I know go to bars in "uptown". I can get some names and locations if you think you'll be in north dallas.
