Consistent weighing techniques
I'm watching my weight to see how much I lose/gain from my new workout habits. I'm pretty new to this arena, so I have what I think may be a vital question:
How do you consistently weight yourself? What I mean is that, for example, you could be retaining water or something, so you weight will come out a bit heavy as opposed to when you weighed yourself without the water retention. Or perhaps your intestines contain 3 pounds worth of shit. How do you get consistency? **Remember that I'm not looking for accuracy. Consistency is far more important to me, I just want to observe changes. |
best thing to do is to wake up, take a piss and shit, and weigh yourself without eating or drinking anything beforehand. that way, you've not added weight from stuff you've eaten, but you've also gotten rid of excess shit and water in your body before weighing.
last week, i weighed myself at night to see how much of a change there could be, and then the following morning, and there was a 5.5 pound difference. pretty crazy. |
Make sure you always weigh yourself at the same point in the day. If you have a routine going, this should be pretty easy.
