I took a plunge last year. Broke up with my girlfriend I was living with, it had become a staid boring relationship and I was stuck in a rut. Left my job, decided to go back to college to train as an electrician, got an apartment in a different town etc.
Well, it's been a struggle! I've run out of money on a few occasions, had to give up the apartment as I couldn't afford it and move back to my mum's house miles away from anyone I knew. She threw me out after about 5 months as we realised we couldn't get along in the same house anymore. Now lodging in a house with my dad's friend and wife. It's been stressful, hard work, lost & gained friends, but most of all it's been DIFFERENT. I pretty much have a new life now, and although it's been less than fun a lot of the time, I have grown from it, I've changed (although not completely) and i'm looking forward to a brighter future. And that, my friend, is worth anybody doing if you're not enjoying what's happening in the present. You don't need to take any pre-made advice from "people who are qualified" unless you want to... i'm guessing you're not into that anyway. Take the plunge, see what happens, and try to make the most of what life throws your way. Good luck ![]()

Funny, but 10 years ago I had a similar situation. I hated where I lived, tired of the same boring friends with no direction. Just got separated from my wife at the time, and was now a single dad of two girls, ages 3 and 5 at the time. I decided to drive from Texas to Florida to find a job. I hit every major city from Tallahassee to Daytona Beach, to Orlando to Tampa (I don't like the idea of trying to live in South Florida, so I skipped that area). I came back home to Texas, turned in my 2 weeks notice, took my kids to my sisters for 3 weeks while I got settled in, and started my new job in Orlando. All it takes is dedication and a desire to do it and it will happen. While I agree with those who say "you are who you are", I also firmly believe that those who want to succeed, soround themselves with successors, not loosers. You can create your own success by keeping your path ahead of you. I am proud of you that you have already started on your way to sucess by deleting the games, and changing the way you are leading your own life! Good luck! and if you ever make it out to the Daytona/Orlando area, drop a line. You can crash at my place. I mean what are we here for if not to develop friendships?

hrm, florida is a great vacation area, unfortunately its also about as far as away as you can get from where I am now hehe.
anyways I just got a call back from http://www.oakwood.com/ these fellows. they said they like my app, that they'll try to work with me on setting up a phone interview pending my background check, and give me a call back to let me know the details. Very strange business sector that i wasn't really aware of. It'll be interesting to get hired I think edit: annd just got another call back from a different application, but they didn't wanna do a phone interview so, hrm.
